Bank of Me – Branches out to Asia

LC Team in AsisLast week (3rd March) saw almost the entire team out in Asia – Hong Kong – delivering our Bank of Me programme to 50 of Lane Crawford’s top leadership team, as part of their ongoing work to embed a new set of values into the company.

And what a location! We were lucky enough to be able to use the Aberdeen Boat Club – located right on the waterfront on the south of the island. It was a great space, which lent itself well to Steve Williams’ compelling story of his journey to the Beijing and Athens Olympics – taking golds at both as part of the coxless four-man rowing team.

As with all our Bank of Me programmes, the content was a mix of Steve’s story, our own thinking, experience and the delegates’ input around how it would all come to life in their organisation. It was a packed two days, because no minute wasted by us or the Lane Crawford team. They were relentless in their interest and passion for the day!.

Bringing the five to life for Lane Crawford in Hong Kong

Together, Jane, Steve, Jo and Beccy wove together the five areas that comprise the programme and shaped conversations with the delegates around how their new value set could live through, and be supported by the material. As with all our work, the emphasis was on action and the formation of new habits – both personal and team.

Chris’s heart was in his mouth for the whole time – terrified that we would see a boat capsize and he’d have to rescue 24 wet delegates. Luckily, we had the capable services of the Asia-based Buzz Dragon Boat team. They kept us afloat and fired up throughout.  The experiential element of the two days ensured we ‘stress tested’ the concepts and approaches in real-time.

Feedback from the delegates on the two days has been highly positive. As a result of the work, the team now have a shared framework to apply the vision work on a day-to-day basis. They also have a new set of tools and approaches to ‘make their boat go faster’. Best of all, they are all highly motivated to try them with their wider teams.

Dragon boat head asiaLane Crawford is an organisation that continues to impress us, both with their energy for the work we are doing with them and their ability to deliver real change within their organisation.
